Elemental Methods Celebrates the Great Miami Riverway at the 2024 Riverway Summit

(Piqua, OH) —The 2024 Riverway Summit was held in Piqua, Ohio at the Fort Piqua Plaza Banquet Center from 8am to 3pm. The purpose of the Summit is to celebrate the accomplishments of river corridor communities, with a focus on increasing public and private economic investment, recreation, and highlighting the need for a healthy river system. This year’s keynote speaker was Scott Holley, President and CEO of US-based Eddyline Kayaks. The Great Miami Riverway includes more than 99 miles of river, paved trails, and connected communities in southwest Ohio. You can surf the river; cycle the bike trail; and find your way through historic downtowns filled with local shops, award-winning restaurants, and some of the most unique experiences in the nation.

Attendees heard from a panel of leaders from three community-driven river corridor partnerships focused on economic development and quality of life: The Tennessee RiverLine; the Ohio River Way; and the Cuyahoga River Water Trail. Additionally, a panel discussion featured popular events that draw people to rivers. Piqua’s Down a River Down a Beer; Ohio River PaddleFest and Ohio River Swim; and the "iAngler Tournament" system for fishing tournaments and data for water research. Michael Christopher, Managing Director of Elemental Methods, LLC and iAngler Tournament Systems, participated in panel of leaders discussing the importance of hosting water-based events to engage the public in riverway development.

The Summit draws community leaders, real estate developers, tourism professionals, business owners, and those interested in the Great Miami River, including its trails and its cities’ economic development. The Summit 2024 also included: Behind-the-scenes tours of historic downtown Piqua; Corridor Champion of the Year Award; After party on the banks of the Great Miami River at Crooked Handle; Brewing featuring the NEW RIVERWAY BREW; and Unparalleled networking and community celebration!
