2024 Hurricane Relief Trash Tournament Recap

Irving, TX – iAngler Tournament Systems and CCA Florida are celebrating the 56 volunteers who participated in the “2024 CCA Florida Hurricane Relief Trash Tournament”. Their dedication resulted in the removal of 148 bags and 6,230 pounds of trash and debris from the Wares Creek on Manatee River, Alligator Creek in Charlotte Harbor, Big Sarasota Pass in Sarasota Bay, Tampa Bay, and Roberts Bay in the Venice Inlet.

The top trash items reported were plastic bottles, plastic bags, aluminum cans, derelict boat parts such as cushions and batteries, styrofoam chunks, and plywood pieces. 

  • Cheryl Huntsinger’s team submitted 50 bags from the Manatee River and awarded (8) $25 gift cards to Academy Sporting Goods

  • Peter Robinson submitted 39 bags from the Manatee River and took home a new pair of Bajio Sunglasses

  • Jeff Moore reported 34 bags from Charlotte Harbor and was awarded a $100 American Express gift card

  • William Johnson submitted 20 bags from the Manatee River and gifted a $100 American Express gift card

  • Raymond Alexander reported 5 bags from the Tampa Bay and took home a new pair of Bajio Sunglasses
